Sol Cycles Receiving Honors

In the past few days the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) has released its annual awards, with Sol Cycles grabbing two of the top honors. The bike first won the award for “Sexiest Bike” ridden in a race, generally the award given to the bike envied by the most members of the conference and their fans. However, people were not only drooling over the bamboo’s beautiful aesthetics, but also took time to appreciate the technological advancements that Sol cycles made in the field of bamboo frames, awarding the bike “Most Excititng Technological Innovation” of the year. Sol Cycles thanks the ECCC and looks forward to having more and more bikes race within the conference.

Sol Cycles getting attention “over the pond”

With the anticipation of Sol Cycle’s frames hitting the markets, word has spread across the Atlantic to our friends in the UK. Sol Cycles was featured in the Cyclotherapy section on the website for “The Independent.” The newspaper is one of the youngest national daily newspapers in England. Sol Cycles in “Biz”

As Sol Cycles continues to prepare for its exciting full production beginning real soon, the press keeps rolling in. Yesterday, an article on Sol Cycles by Carlton Reid appeared on Bikebiz.com entitled Bamboo comes out of the Woodwork. The articles talks both about Sol Cycles’ frames as well as the amazing properties of bamboo. In other news, our full website is in production and should be up shortly. Stay tuned for updates!

Sol Cycles in The Daily Princetonian

The “Street” section of the Daily Princetonian Newspaper comes outs weekly, usually focusing on stories dealing with arts, entertainment, and style. This weeks issue was deemed “The Entrepeneurs Issue” and led off by featuring Sol Cycles in an article entitled Reinventing the Wheel. The article talks about Sol Cycles’ evolution from small scale project to full scale production starting in about a month.

Sol Cycles Featured At Rutgers’ Earth Day

Two memers of the Sol Cycles team traveled to the Cook Campus Center at Rutgers University for their annual Earth Day celebration today. The day was focused around “Environmental Innovations”and Sol Cycles traveled, bikes in hand, to show off their product. The team was warmly welcomed with many eager people wanting to hear about, and perhaps see the bamboo bicycles in action. Will and Douglas gave a 45 minute presentation / question and answer session to the audience, concluding with people coming up to feel, lift, and even ride the bikes. Sol Cycles Featured in Upcoming Newsweek International Issue

Sol Cycles is to be featured in the April 21, 2008 issue of Newsweek International. The article, entitled “Stronger than Steel” talks about bamboo’s amazing properties, focusing much of the article on the construction of bikes. The article talks about Frey’s preference to race on his Sol Cycles frame due to both the high performance it bring as well as the comfort that separates it from his much more expensive carbon fiber frame.
